Hello, I’m Allison Milmoe, the redhead behind The Ginger Pen Lettering Studio. My enthusiasm for lettering began at age 2 when I first put crayon to paper and has been gradually refined over the years to its current love of curves, swerves, flourishes and an addiction to stationery and paper.
My passion for calligraphy is coupled with a 20-year professional background in art direction and graphic design where I married color and form for major retailers such as The North Face, Sephora, and Peet's Coffee, and national publications like Golf Magazine, Parents, and Mother Jones. After period of wanderlust (45 counties on five continents), I eventually settled down with my family in the Chicago area. I’m not shy to admit my weakness for all things mid-century modern, heirloom tomatoes, and the japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi. I also adore tacky refrigerator magnets and reality tv (but don't tell anyone).
