Dr. Dina Ghaly-Habib

Dr. Ghaly obtained her dental degree with high honors in 2006. She continued her higher education by obtaining her Masters in Public Health from Nova Southeastern University, Certificate of Advanced Specialty Education in Dental Public Health from Columbia University and a Fellowship in Primary Care Education from Columbia University.

She received her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Pediatric Dentistry from Boston University in Massachusetts where she was awarded the prestigious Dr. Richard Allard Award in Pediatric Dentistry in 2017. Dr. Ghaly is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and has extensive training in sedation and laser dentistry, which allows her to offer comfortable dental care to extremely anxious children and those with special care needs. Dr. Ghaly is certified in laser dentistry and has numerous OR cases under her belt.

Dr. Ghaly strongly believes in giving back to the community; she participated in several mission trips across Africa, one of her recent trips was to Ethiopia in the rural region of Hawzien as a part of the first pediatric dentist mission to Ethiopia. She is volunteering to promote oral health care in underserved areas nationally and internationally, currently participating in two outreach programs in Egypt and Bolivia. She is an avid member of the St. Mark Church of DC as well.

Dr. Ghaly has always had a strong commitment and passion towards pediatric dentistry and specifically in the special needs population which led her to develop a new full curriculum aiming to educate future pediatric dentists on multiple special needs related topics and on the necessity of integrating the special needs patients in a regular clinic setting. Dr. Ghaly is currently an assistant professor at Boston University and Boston Medical Center at the pediatric dentistry department.

She is also a member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, International Association for Dental Research, American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry, St. Luke Coptic Society for healthcare professionals, Academy of Laser Dentistry, Virginia Dental Association and Northern Virginia Dental Society.

As a mother of four children, Dr. Ghaly believes that prevention is key. That is why children should start visiting the dentist as soon as the first tooth erupts. Dr. Ghaly understands the necessity of protecting the developing child psyche and keeping dental appointments as pleasant and efficient for both the patient and parents, as the child’s well being reflects on the entire family.

In her free time Dr. Ghaly loves water rafting, hiking and traveling with her children and husband.
